Poem Nine: Day Nine
Prayer
O, Creator
I long to hear you
Like you hear me
I pray to you
Day after day
To save me,
To save my family
From the darkness that
Finds us
From the world that tries to
Destroy us
From the humans that
Hunt us
Day after day
I pray to you
To find us
To bring us out
of this darkness
To shine the light onto
our world
To bring back
Our hope
This hope didn’t
Go away
It merely vanished
With the tides of time
Shine down on us
On this world
For everyone
To make it a better place
